Coalition Prevention Programs

Student Resource Center

A Youth Services Specialist works daily on the Santa Ynez Valley Union High School campus to meet one-on-one with students in need of academic and mentoring support and to provide before and after school hours at the “Pirates Cove.” Students’ needs are assessed and linked to other support services through People Helping People, as needed, addressing the entire health and well being of the student.

Youth Action Council (YAC)

The teen advisory council to the Coalition is an active high school club with a mission to “Empower Teens to Strive For a Life Free From the Harm of Negative Influences.” Students meet bi-monthly to plan activities and campaigns to advocate for the health and safety of their peers.

Life Skills Training

This Botvin Life Skills prevention program is designed for 7th and 8th grade students and implemented in the school classroom. Curriculum covers 12 topics in 22 sessions.
